Dr. Ross holds advanced certification from ALD and is a course provider for ALD. He is a member of the Board of Directors for ALD and chairs the Certification committee. He was awarded the Leon Goldman Award for Clinical Excellence by ALD in 2016.

Recently, there has been the development of oral medicaments that are innovative and effective to assist in wound healing, infections, management of mucositis, xerostomia, aphthous/herpetic lesions and periodontitis. Their effects mimic some of the attributes and methods of actions as laser energy. An example is oral mucositis management utilizing both photo bio-modulation, oral probiotics and anti-oxidant oral gels.

As our patients continue to seek out "natural remedies” to "treat” their oral and systemic conditions, we now have laser assisted "nutraceuticals” to can create a faster and more effective way to manage disease and associated complications.

Samuel B. Low, D.D.S., M.S., M.Ed., Professor Emeritus, University of Florida, College of Dentistry; Associate faculty member of the Pankey Institute with 30 years of private practice experience in periodontics, lasers and implant placement. He is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and past President of the American Academy of Periodontology. He is a current Board of Director of the Academy of Laser Dentistry. Dr. Low provides periodontists, dentists and dental hygienists with the tools for successfully managing the periodontal patient. He was selected "Dentist of the Year” by the Florida Dental Association, Distinguished Alumnus by the University of Texas Dental School, and the Gordon Christensen Lecturer Recognition Award. He is a Past President of the Florida Dental Association and past ADA Trustee.

Peri-implantitis is becoming a major peri-infection in next few years, as different researchers in dentistry are saying that we can expect to see 15-30% failures of all implants placed no matter how skilled the clinicians are. This didactic course will discuss baseline checks to be done on all implants, how to treat peri-mucositis and peri-implantitis with the use of laser therapy.

Dr. Kusek is a 1984 graduate of the University of Nebraska College of Dentistry. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology (ABOI) and Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID). He has Mastership in the Academy of Laser Dentistry and Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) and is a Recognized Course Provider for the Academy of Laser Dentistry (ALD). Dr. Kusek received his Lifelong Learning and Service Recognition from AGD in 2012. He is an adjunct professor at the University of South Dakota and has published numerous articles on implant and laser dentistry.
